My one personal wedding day regret was not incorporating a beautifully styled dessert table into the proceedings. Not only do they make a statement piece of decor for your guests to admire (and a super talking point) but your nearest and dearest also benefit from having the choice of their favourite something sweet.

We're going to show you some of the easiest and most effective ways to give your dessert the "Wow" factor with minimal fuss and a small budget. We've even created a special graphic within the post that incorporates all of the ideas so you can pin it to your big day inspiration boards. Did we say you're welcome?

Stripped Back

Let's start with the basics shall we? Actually, you don't need a whole bunch of frills and froth to display your treats. This was a dessert bar we styled ourselves as part of our "Enamoured" inspiration shoot earlier in the year, I loved it for it's simplicity - a range of different stands and containers at varying heights adds interest, finished off with a cute felt heart garland.

You can find a wide range of garlands in all lengths and colour ways on Etsy. This one was less than £8 plus P&P.

Draws Of Flowers

Ok so you may not happen to have a dresser to show off your victoria sponge (many of the ones that we feature are picked up fairly reasonably from car boot sales and given a lick of paint) but you should definitely put your bouquets (and your bridesmaids bouquets) to good use after your aisle decent. Use them to fill dresser draws or align them across your trestle to add some floral fancy.

Love Letters

When considering investing in decorative pieces for your big day always consider if you would re-use them in the home in some way (this means they make a lovely permanent reminder too.)

We love these cute mugs, use them to spell out whatever word you please and fill with single stems or lollipops.

Pom Poms

Pastel Shades

You may not be intending to choose a particular colour scheme but there's no denying that in some instances a bit of matchy match REALLY works. Take this pastel hued table of delights for example, it's the perfect co-ordination that makes it so covetable.

The front of the table was decorated with hanging ribbons in the same shades as the Macarons, check out your nearest Haberdashery for all kinds of colours, widths and patterns.

Balloons

We featured this delicious wedding only a few weeks ago and the dessert display was one of my favourite ever. If you look closely there's actually not many dishes on offer but what is on offer is perfection. And the giant balloons as a backdrop is genius. You can purchase a pack of three for about a tenner from The Wedding Of My Dreams.

Bunting

If anyone dare tells you they are fed up of bunting tell them to DO ONE. Or to stop being so bloody miserable. It's almost become like a British tradition to have draping material flags of some description at every occasion hasn't it?

And there's no denying that the sheer abundance of this floral print version looks EPIC.
