WWW readers Kella and Ollie married in August of last year at the quirky Asylum in London. They wanted to achieve a wedding which was local, DIY and relaxed. I so love all of the eclectic style and décor choices, most of which was crafted by the couple. Sweet pin wheels, home made confetti and some amazing doily table runners were just a few of the lovely details.

Kella has a totally unique yet gorgeous bridal look, a layered whimsical dress by Kobus Dippenaar was teamed with a DIY blush pink veil. Wow wee.

THE PROPOSAL | So he proposed on Christmas Day. We were at home just the two of us, Ollie's mum nearly gave the game away because she kept texting all day saying her reception on her phone was bad and to call the landline number after we opened our presents, then another text asking if we had opened the presents, I wondered why she was so bothered. Anyway we had lunch and I was on the sofa getting ready to watch "call the midwife" while Ollie was making coffee, he came into the lounge with advent calendar because we had chocolates to finish I wasn't paying attention because apparently he was on one knee but I did not see this at so he just sat on the sofa. I decided that we should open our presents so I started to get them out from under the tree and Ollie comes to join me on one knee and again I don't see this.. He says have the last chocolate and I'm thinking that's really sweet and I go into this whole thing about remembering when we were younger you would get a big 25 chocolate but now advent calendars only go up to 24 blah blah blah baring in mind Ollie is still on one knee I still haven't noticed. So there I am chatting away and I look at him while talking and think he has a funny look on his face like he just wants me to shut up.. I feel for the last chocolate in the advent calander but can't feel anything, I'm thinking how rude the last chocolate has gone until I look down and there inside number 24 is a ring!!! I look up and scream and he doesn't even get chance to ask me because I shout out yes!!

THE VISION | Relaxed as possible with homemade bits and bobs that meant lots to us. Somewhere close to were we live in London.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | I had secretly been planning our wedding on Pintrest before Ollie even proposed!! Pintrest and blogs were a source of information. I had a wedding notebook and a folder with different subject dividers with checklists everywhere. I was quite ahead of schedule but the last 2 months flew by and the last month was a little stressful because we were doing so much ourselves! We sourced everything ourselves from hiring tables, chairs, plates, glasses we even went to Calais with friends to get the alcohol.

BUDGET | We were determined to do it for under £10,000.

THE VENUE | We held the ceremony and the wedding breakfast at The Asylum, Caroline Gardens in Peckham, then moved on to Peckham Pelican which is a bar we go to.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The dress was by Kobus Dippenaar and my mum made my veil for £20!! My shoes were from Topshop from last year and my jewellery was from Les Nereides. My best friend Jo is a make up artist and did my make up which was so lovely and nice to have a special moment with her, it meant so much to me.

FINDING THE DRESS | I went to Morgan Davies and it was the 2nd dress I tried on. It was a Kobbus Dippeanaar dress with 3 layers 1 of a blush pink,1 of tiny sequins, and 1 of lace, the bodices was boned. It was so light I could move around and dance it really well! I wanted a blush pink veil but struggled to find one so my mum found the right colour and made it for me.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Ollie had his suit tailor-made from Thread needle man on the Walworth road in London, on recommendation form my Uncle. George was so knowledgeable and Ollie really enjoyed the process.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | I like you Sandol Stoddard Warburg, Song from the open road Walt Whitman, You're the one that I want was sung by our friend Rachel John, it was a very slowed down version of the song.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My sister found the dresses on instagram and they were from ASOS Salon.

THE FLOWERS | Our very good friend Jonathon Hall did our flowers, we went to Covent Garden flower market the Friday before the wedding and choose the flowers and then we let him do what ever he want. Jon is not a florist he own a props company that provides props for West end Musicals and plays. We chose Dahlias, Hydrangeas, Gyposphylia, Heather and lots of foliage.

THE CAKE | Again Mr Hall!!! I gave him a picture and again let him go crazy. He made Dahlias and pinwheels from icing.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The Chiron and her husband Tim from Chiron Cole. We did do formal shots but we wanted lots of natural shots rather posed. The pictures surpassed all my expectations they are just wonderful.

We also had Shutterbox films film the day in super 8mm, Lee was great and we didn't even know he was there.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Roxy Hotten was our celebrant and she did such a wonderful job of making the ceremony personal to us, we met with her a couple of times leading up to the day and Roxy always made us so comfortable and because of that she really understood our relationship and every one said how personal it was but also inclusive of all our guests.

I am half greek/cypriot so in the ceremony we added a ring exchange where friends come up and swap the rings between the bride and groom to signify that they will support you in your marriage this was just a little nod to my greek roots.

I bought over hundred doilies from eBay and stitched them together to make table runner I made 13 in total, we had pinwheel on the chairs on the aisle which our friend made for us (the first present Ollie ever bought me was a pinwheel). I struggled to find confetti in the colours I wanted so I bought tissue paper again from eBay and then bought paper stamps shaped in flowers stars and hearts and stamped away with the help of lot of people I them put them into bags which I decorated with a strip of glitter, I ended up adding sequins and glitter to the confetti as well. We had lemons as our place names, I used a door with glass panels in for the seating plane and I wooden pallet that I wrote the menu on. To get all this together I hired Lou form Beyond Vintage, from the very first email I knew Lou understood what I was trying to achieve and on the day I was able to completely trust her and let go.

Our wedding breakfast was a Greek BBQ catered by Simply Catering, Theo the owner was so hands on and he was just incredible at making it all happen.

At the Peckham Pelican I filled balloons with confetti which after a few drinks were popped! We had lots of dancing and ate pizza.

THE HONEYMOON | Paris, Lyon and Menton all by train then we flew to Naples and got the ferry to Positano on the amalfi coast. Positano was the first place we went on holiday to.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Our friend Marina dropping the ring in the ring exchange which had everyone laughing, our friend Rachel singing accompanied by my cousin, our vows will stay with me forever but most of all having all our friends and family in the same place at the same time will stay with me forever, it was such an amazing feeling.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Know what your strengths are separately when it comes to planning and in the end what will be will be nobody except you will know if anything is wrong. If having family and friends in the same room is a rarity for you enjoy it to the fullest.
