What's Your Eye Shape?

What makes your eyes unique? Are they big and round? Small and flat? Wide or narrow?

Are you thinking, "Why should I care?" Here's the answer: Knowing your eye shape will help you apply your eye makeup in the most flattering way. Just like that one style of jeans fits your shape perfectly, certain makeup techniques "fit" some eye shapes better than others. This is especially true when it comes to eyeliner. If you line your eyes according to their shape, they'll pop like never before. So we've created the ultimate guide for lining your lids based on eye shape. But before you dive in, you need to determine which of these six descriptions fits you. Don't worry, it's easy!

Almond eyes are oval-shaped and have upswept outer corners. They resemble (duh) almonds! Round eyes are open and circular. If you can see all of your iris when you look in the mirror, your peepers are round. Monolid eyes are flat and have no crease. Hooded eyes have a small crease, however the lids are mostly hidden by the skin on the brow bone. Upturned eyes are almond-shaped, but have a pronounced lift at the outer corners, so the lower lid appears larger than the upper. Downturned eyes are the opposite - the outer drop down, making the upper lid appear larger than the lower.

Now you're ready to go. Grab your favorite eyeliner and follow the links above for each eye type to get started!
