Decorative Chandeliers for Every Wedding Theme

Sometimes you don't need a ton of details. Rather, you just need one great statement piece. Chandeliers are terrific for this purpose. They can completely transform the feel of a room, whether it is a faux-chandelier (also known as a hanging installation like those above and below) or one with lighting. Often these pieces can also convey your wedding theme. For example, just one look at the large-scale creation above, and I can guess that a garden concept played a central role in that couple's wedding planning. We've rounded up a selection of chandeliers in a variety of themes to show off the effect of these pretty pieces.

With spring in the air, it's time to bring out all of the burgeoning blooms and lush greenery! Talk to your florist or wedding planner about creating these faux-chandeliers. If you really do want your chandeliers to give off some light, consider adding battery-powered candles or string lights.

You'd better have strong beams to support a chandelier like the magical one below. Dozens of peach and pink roses mean that this wedding is very sweet and super romantic.

Outdoor weddings can also be in on the trend! Shabby chic chandeliers take this patio wedding above from darling to dahling! Between the crystal-laden chandeliers and the string lights, the pink centerpieces and shining stemware positively glow.

If your wedding is in an atrium or sunroom, use chandeliers to keep the lighting stunning after the sun goes down. Below, these ultra-glam chandeliers (left) marry modern with Baroque for a fairy-tale effect.

But if your outdoor wedding is more rustic, arrange to hang a simple chandelier from a tree to create a French rustic version of a makeshift altar to marry under (below, right).

Want a wedding that connotes luxury? Bring in a variety of "mismatched" chandeliers that feature different crystal designs (but in the same scale, so that it doesn't look too scattered). Above, this dreamy reception uses several chandeliers to softly illuminate their surroundings.

At the other end of the spectrum, we love a truly rustic chandelier for a barn wedding. This option below is made from Mason jars affixed to an antique wagon wheel!

DIY brides are loving the current hot trend of paper chandeliers. If you find yourselves with loads of free time (we totally get how funny that is), make this origami example above. It is essentially a version of those cootie-catchers you made in junior high covering a globe lantern.

Below, ribbons can be used from wire frames to create tiered chandeliers in your wedding colors!

For a more advanced DIY project (or perhaps just call in the professionals on these), turn paper into poms and flowers for the ultimate girly and playful design.
