Dreaming of the weekend and letting your hair down? Well let me take you one step further this lovely Friday afternoon.

It's easy to get wrapped up in the pretty when planning a wedding. But the fact of the matter is you and your guests will be hoping for great food and drink to enjoy too. Besides the usual wine and champers, why not think about something a little different.

The cocktail.

It's such a fun way to inject personality and style into your party. There are endless different recipe ideas and you can even come up with your own.

Pretty, summery and so very refreshing. How lovely would this be for a quintessential Summer country wedding?

INGREDIENTS |

50ml. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold

25ml. Fresh Lime Juice

25ml. Sugar Syrup

3piece(s) Fresh Chopped Strawberries

1piece(s) Strawberry for Garnish

➤ 1.8 units of alcohol per serve

HOW TO |

Fill your shaker 3/4 full with cubed ice.

Pour in Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold, sugar syrup, fresh lime juice and 3 chopped strawberries.

Shake vigorously for 10 seconds until cold.

Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a strawberry.

Classic cool and delicious. I can just see quirky grooms man propping up the bar with this tipple.

INGREDIENTS |

50ml. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold

1piece(s) Mint Sprig

7piece(s) Mint Leaves

2wedge(s) Lime

25ml. Sugar Syrup

1top(s) Soda Water

➤ 1.8 units of alcohol per serve

HOW TO |

Clap the mint in you palms to releases the aromas and place at the bottom of the tall glass.

Chop your half lime into pieces and place on top of the mint.

Add your sugar syrup on top of the mint and lime.

Muddle gently to release the lime juices.

Fill your glass 3/4 full with crushed ice (important to use crushed Ice to ensure maximum flavour).

Pour in Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold and soda water.

Stir everything together well and top with further crushed ice and garnish with a mint sprig.

Fun, original and scrumptious. This cocktail is definitely on my must try list.

50ml. Smirnoff No. 21® Vodka

120ml. Ginger Ale

25ml. Blackberry Cordial

8piece(s) Blueberries, Blackberries and Raspberries

1wedge(s) Lime

1piece(s) Mint Sprig

➤ 1.9 units of alcohol per serve

HOW TO |

Muddle blueberries, blackberries and raspberries in a glass or jam jar.

Press down on 8 blueberries, blackberries and raspberries in a highball glass or jam jar using a muddler to extract juices and flavour.

Fill the glass or jar with ice.

Fill the glass with crushed ice.

Add Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka.

Pour 50ml Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka into the glass.

Stir thoroughly.

Stir the mixture with a bar spoon until well combined.

Top up with ginger ale and drizzle over the blackberry cordial.

Add 120ml ginger ale, or enough to fill the glass, and drizzle 25ml blackberry cordial over the top of the drink.

Garnish with a wedge of lime and mint.

With a sharp knife and cutting board, slice a wedge of lime and place in the drink. Add a small sprig of mint at an angle against the rim of the glass to garnish.
