Having a wedding on Easter weekend? Inviting children? In that case, we've got a collection of playful decor and favor projects for your littlest of guests (likewise, if you've got a whimsical group of ladies coming to the bridal shower, many of these ideas could also be used). Between the candy and the bunnies and the colored eggs, there's a whole lot to love about this spring holiday.

First, when it comes to greeting the children at your wedding, have some fun. Use bright origami holders for eggs (print out instructions and give extra sheets of paper to the older children, so that they can make their own), and place their name on a card right in front. Or channel every kid's (and adult's) Willy Wonka-esque dreams, and put each place card in a Peeps bunny (below).

You can also just go directly to the good stuff and make tiny paper mache baskets to hold a handful of treasured chocolate eggs (below).

Be equally upbeat and festive with your decor. Seal up your own Easter favor bags (below, left), or use them for activity kits and fill them with crayons and jacks. Find cheap porcelain Easter bunnies at a discount store and then decoupage them with book pages (below, right) if you want to blend your children's table decor with your otherwise vintage theme.

Looking for an activity to keep the kiddos occupied? Have them decorate or dye eggs. Just remember to warn the parents first so that they can bring smocks or aprons to keep those nice wedding clothes clean. Below, these eggs used all-natural dyes. If you are concerned about the mess, you could also pre-dye the eggs and then provide stickers and stamps for the children to bling them out.

What to do with all of the eggs that didn't make the cut? Turn them into a tablescape of mini planters (below) for a very darling detail.

Of course, if you really want to charm your youngest guests, then your DIY projects should focus on the dessert course. Make your own Cadbury Creme Eggs (we weren't happy about the chocolate change, either), or use an eggshell to enclose small sweets (above, right).

Chocolate nests are also very popular with this set. And you certainly won't mind sampling the practice run (it will be one task your bridal party will be happy to assist with).

For those with advanced DIY skills, make chic Easter bunny cookies or an Easter basket-themed cake. Both will take plenty of time and patience, so if you need to pass this one off to a trusted bakery, we understand.

Our favorite Easter DIY for kids has to be these small egg pinatas. Complementing your pastel color palette, these pinatas filled with candy and trinkets will be the hit of the party!
