Glam & Elegant Classic Wedding with Rustic Touches - Whimsical...

WWW readers Daisy and Henry tied the knot on the 17 th May 2014 at Waddesdon in Buckinghamshire. Being a planner at The Proposers, Daisy knew exactly how to achieve their dream day. With a vision of an elegant wedding with vintage rustic styling.

Some of my favourite elements of the day have to be the moss letters, rustic wooden signs and the tree centrepieces.

The style was abundant. With Daisy in a timeless lace gown with veil and Emmy shoes, Henry in a handsome tux and the bridesmaids in floor length dresses. So much glamour.

Thanks today to Studio Rouge for sharing their lovely photographs.

THE PROPOSAL | Being a marriage proposal planner and founder of The Proposers, Henry had a tough job proposing. He knew that anything he did would be told time and time again.

I always said that I'd love to turn the lock on our front door and something happen inside. Well one day I did turn that lock and was surprised to find a trail of rose petals and candles leading to the roof terrace door. The door had a huge sign on it that said, 'Is this how you pictured your future?' I opened the door to find him fully suited surrounded with thousands of lanterns, candles and flowers. He had my ring made for me which I LOVE and even booked a nail appointment because he knew I'd want to show my ring off. It was certainly how I pictured my future.

THE VISION | Creatively elegant vintage décor with rustic touches.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Being a planner for a living I knew how much time and effort goes into planning the big day, so I strategically made sure everyone involved had a time line of jobs to do and when. Everything went smoothly and without a hitch. That's not to say it wasn't hard work because it was.

BUDGET | £50K

THE VENUE | Waddesdon Manor - The Old Dairy

It's one of my favourite places. It's so beautiful and private. It feels like we've been transported back in-time.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress was from David Tutera for Mon Cheri. I got it from a beautiful bridal shop called Xquisite Bridal In Leighton Buzzard. The owner is incredible.

I also had a Swarovski embellished cathedral veil and shoes from Emmy Shoes.

FINDING THE DRESS | Finding the dress was easy. I saw it on a catwalk wedding show and knew it was the one immediately. We hunted down the owner and visited the shop the following week. I knew it was the one from the second I tried it on.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Henry had a suit made for him from 'suit supply' on Saville Row. He looked very dapper.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We hired a fantastic string quartet called Manor House - they were brilliant (a great mix of current music but played in a traditional way). They played at the church and again at the reception drinks out on the lake.

For the evening music we hired a band called 'Apple Candy Blue' - If I could make one recommendation to other couples it would be to hire this band. They were personable, interactive, cool and just simply AMAZING. Every single person danced all night - even my 85 year old Nan!

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | 6 Bridesmaids, friends and family. I wanted the girls to look very glamorous with full-length dresses in navy lace over a blush overlay. The dresses really suited the theme and the venue.

THE FLOWERS | A hired a local florist to create beautiful flowers of pale pink roses, astilbe, hypericum berries and greenery. I wanted a bouquet that reminded me of the countryside with a vintage element.

THE CAKE | I wanted an elegant 3-tired cake with an element of my bouquet incorporated. Henry's mum made the cake and my mum decorated it. She spent 10 weeks individually making each rose from icing - she did an amazing job.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | My wedding Photographer has won 'Wedding Photographer' of the year 19 times. We knew Studio Rouge would be amazing and we weren't let down. I can't thank them enough.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | I wanted guests to feel transported back in-time.

I borrowed a 1900's desk for a wooden engraved guest book, complete with 1920's phone, books, candles etc.

In-keeping with the rustic theme, I imported trees from Denmark to complete my centre pieces. They looked great and made the room smell lovely. I'd even painted the pots with yoghurt and left in the sun to give that rustic feel and overflowed the pots with fresh moss that draped onto the table.

The table plan was made from vintage books and pots over turned with an array of vintage frames.

We even had the words LOVE written in moss.

The dance floor had a personalised Mr & Mrs Proctor sign which everyone loved to dance on.

And at the end of the night. We supplied each guest with a hangover kit. A personalised wedding bag filled with mints, tissues, paracetamol and water.

We didn't want to spend money on something that would be eaten or thrown away, so instead we donated money on our guest's behalf to BUST, a Breast Cancer Care Trust in Bristol. A charity close to our hearts.

THE HONEYMOON | My honeymoon was a complete surprise. I didn't find out until we arrived at the airport. Henry wanted to keep it a surprise so I had one less thing to think about. Our destination was Mauritius. It was the perfect weather, great food and very relaxing.

We snorkelled with sharks, we went deep sea fishing and caught three huge tuna and danced with locals.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Receiving a wedding gift from Henry in the morning - cue tears! Singing to 'Sign Sealed delivered' as we left the church married to string quartet. Dancing at the end of the night to 'We are family'.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Create mood boards for inspiration. Make sure you add everything you buy to a spreadsheet - costs can easily spiral out of control.
