We just love it when all the pieces of the puzzle come together and create one beautiful and inspirational love story. A sweet couple with both Israeli and American roots led to a festive Jewish wedding with an American flair which led to building a loving home in Israel.

Becky, an Olah Chadasha from Chicago, and Shie met while Shie was working for Becky's father in Chicago. A couple of random encounters at Jewish events led to a life changing first date as they became inseparable ever since. After a little more than a year of dating Shie was planning on going back to School in Israel, and like a true gentleman would, he asked Becky's parents for her hand. The proposal was in itself very traditional as Shie proposed during a family Shabbat dinner after he hid the ring under the challah cover!

Against all odds, with a long distance relationship and a war happening in the background, Shie and Becky have managed to plan the wedding of their dreams. Symbolically, Becky made Aiyah to Beer Sheva on the first day of the Tzuk Eitan operation, which didn't stop her from living the dream of making Aliyah and reuniting with the love of her life.

The wedding planning, although it was done from afar, went quite smoothly as the vendors were very responsive. They chose Tur Sinai Organic Farm as their wedding venue which was perfect for their serene vibes as a couple. Once everything else was booked, they were able to move on to planning touristy events for their guests arriving for the wedding from all over the world - they planned a tour of the Old City in Jerusalem, Masada, and Shuk Mahane Yehuda. This is a great gesture to show appreciation for your guests and another way for them to kick back and relax before the wedding.

The couple decided on a traditional Jewish ceremony which included a ' bedeken', where the groom unveils the bride before the huppa, and the men in their families said the 'seven blessings' during the ceremony.

Being a mixed cultural wedding, it was special in many ways; the Israelis said the wedding felt American, and the Americans said it felt Israeli in its vibes. Coming from The States, Becky wanted a live band so they booked both a DJ and a band which played traditional Klezmer and Yemenite songs- all in all the perfect combination!
