If you ever get an opportunity to travel to Italy, San Gimignano should be on your itinerary. A stunning little hill town in near Siena, it is the perfect beautiful to exchange vows and for Nikola and Guy, it was the perfect choice for their destination wedding. Planning everything from Australia, they relied heavily on the internet for ideas and inspiration and of course the day couldn't have come together without the help of their planner, Italy Weddings and photographer JoAnne Dunn.

Guy and I met on a mine site in the remote outback of Australia - a mutual love of good coffee bought us together in the office kitchen! He proposed on a tropical beach at sunset with a bottle of French champagne and I was completely surprised. We knew from the outset that we wanted an intimate celebration of our love, whilst also offering our close family and friends the holiday of a lifetime and so we chose to have a destination wedding. Choosing the location was easy - we have always had a mutual love of Italy with its amazing food, wine and scenery.

Living in Australia, we relied upon our wedding planner and the internet to get everything done. We just wanted it to be intimate and elegant but hiring an Italian villa in Tuscany for the week of celebrations was by far the best decision we made- it was wonderful having all of our wedding guests in one place with us before and after the wedding.

We exchanging our vows in the medieval courtyard of San Gimignano Town Hall followed by a reception at our villa... it was simply breathtaking.
