Fiesta Wedding Food & Drink Ideas

Without a doubt, this summer's hottest wedding trend has got to be fiesta weddings. Energetic and colorful, these entertaining events are filled with a lively atmosphere and bright details. But the best part has to be all the delicious things for guests to enjoy. We've gathered some yummy ideas for cocktails, food, and wedding cakes to inspire your own wedding fiesta!

You could always serve Coca-Cola from Mexico (cane sugar instead of corn syrup), but why miss out on all the opportunities to serve a rainbow of beverages? Jarritos fruit-flavored sodas (above) are so pretty that it's a shame to hide them in a cooler!

For cocktails, set up a margarita bar using fresh ingredients and stock up on tequila. For those of you who are looking for tequila recommendations for cocktails, you want to avoid the bottom shelf if you can. Tequila is one of those liquors that you get what you pay for. For a great margarita that doesn't completely bust the bank, we like mid-range Sauza.

Does your venue only allow beer and wine? No problem. Make a few tasty sangrias with different fruits (below), and make at least one with white wine (delish-just trust us) and peaches!

Announce your food and drink on a menu that matches the style of your fiesta invitation. This papel picado-inspired menu in bright orchid (below) attracts and commands attention!

If you are near water and have ample available seafood, why not serve classic fish tacos? This tasty (and often healthy) meal is a total crowd pleaser, and relatively budget-friendly. If avocados and guacamole are expensive in your area, serve a bean dip and sour cream to go with your tacos instead.

Think your crowd will be doing a lot of standing? Serve your food in dishes that they can easily walk around with, such as layered dip in a martini glass and paper bags filled with tortilla chips near a salsa buffet (below).

Instead of a traditional caterer, you can often find food carts that will serve the "street food" style delicacies you are looking for. This fruit truck (below) provided cool, refreshing treats like pineapple and watermelon salad at this summer fiesta event.

For wedding cakes that are extra fiesta-festive, find decor and toppers that fit the theme of your party. For a subtler, Southwestern flair, decorate the cake and cake table with flowers, cacti, and fresh citrus fruits (below).

Or go 100% bold with one of these stunning wedding cakes, full of vibrant hues and interesting textures.

When it comes to fiesta wedding cake toppers these examples are all awesome, from paper papel picado (below) to Day of the Dead figures to a thick layer of sprinkles.

Our favorite cake topper, though, is definitely this pinata-style monogram!
