The Offbeat Bride: Janeria

Her offbeat partner: Dwayne

Date and location of wedding: Pop-up wedding under the arch of Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NY; reception at Acqua Santa, Brooklyn, NY - October 31, 2014

Our offbeat wedding at a glance:

We had a pop-up style Hallowedding in New York City. A couple of people dressed up, and my closest friends attended the ceremony in gorgeous garb, but showed up to the reception as "old biddies." We had a photo booth which got some pretty good shots. Most of what we had was DIYed, made by myself or my mom.

Tell us about the ceremony:

We wanted to have it outside and in Brooklyn with only close friends and family. We were limited on time, so we only got a couple of shots in at the ceremony site. We had my friend's mom marry us because neither one of us are religious, and we wanted to customize the ceremony.

We chose the arch of Grand Army Plaza and told everyone to just meet us there!

Tell us about your reception:

We held the reception at Acqua Santa, which was perfect for us. We had a Halloween dessert table done by this GREAT baker, Cake Pops by Jenn. My mom created all of the decorations.
