Rustic Summer Country Fayre Sunflowers & Twine Wedding - Whimsical...

Sunflowers are just the quintessential happy summer bloom aren't they? They always work so well within a wedding and with the twine and rustic details at today's celebration they just create the prettiest of styles.

Nicola and Lee married last summer at Gate Street Barn in Surrey and wanted to achieve a wedding which was informal and rustic in a country setting. Love certainly was evident all day, with a touching ceremony and beautiful couple portraits.

Nicola wore an elegant Rosetta Nicolini gown with her hair in romantic curls while Lee went for a dashing blue suit.

Thanks so very much to Candid and Frank Photography for sharing these wonderful images with us today.

THE PROPOSAL | In the middle of the National Park in Noosa, Australia over Easter weekend on 31.03.13.

THE VENUE | Gate Street Barn, Gate Street, Bramley, Guildford, Surrey GU5 0LR - A beautiful rustic venue in the heart of Surrey Hills.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Rosetta Nicollini Dress, Hair accessory from John Lewis, Jewellery by Jenny Packham.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | 3 piece suit from River Island.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Personalised readings by 2 of our closest friends. Bridal entrance music - Ed Sheeran, Kiss Me. First dance music - Ellie Golding, How long will I love you?

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Hayley Frew (sister), Pauline Taylor and Inger Orton (best friends).

THE CAKE | Tiers of out favourites cheeses from Teddington Cheese, served with crackers, breads, chutneys and pates for evening food.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Laura Mackay - Candid and Frank Photography.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Bunting, hand dressed jam jars and wine bottles, decorative hearts to dress the venue.

THE HONEYMOON | Santorini and Naxos (Greek islands) for a fortnight.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Carving of the main course - one guest from each table asked to cut the meat. The beautiful ceremony with all our favourite people sharing our day.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Don't spend a fortune on things you can make yourself, it's great getting a few friends and family together for an afternoon and making decorations together, that way they're a lot more personal and your guests feel they've really been apart of making your day special.

Things that I made which hardly cost a thing - collected clear jam jars and wine bottles (various sizes) dressed with lace and string / hearts made from twigs (from the garden) and wire / bunting handmade from various materials.
