Real Bride Katie: Getting Over an Early Wedding Purchase - The Broke-Ass Bride: Bad-Ass Inspiration on a Broke-Ass Budget

There's a big trap I think BABs fall into very easily. When you're on a budget, and you're trying to move through a checklist quickly, it's easy to purchase something that isn't ideal or that is a step ahead of where you are in the process, just because it's on sale.

Case in point: I bought earrings for the wedding in January. Nearly eight months ago! Before I had my dress, before I had most of my other accessories, before I began taking steps that really clarified the look at feel of our wedding ...

You see where this is going, right?

At my second-to-last dress fitting (last one this week, OMG!), I looked in the mirror, and realized that not only were the earrings not quite right, but I also needed a necklace! I became the owner of an expensive but not terribly useful pair of earrings in an instant, and began an exhaustive search to find the right items. I think I have it nailed down now, assuming there's no issue with the necklace when it arrives. Phew!

But I don't want to let the rest of my searching go to waste! Here are five beautiful, affordable vintage pieces that might be your perfect fit, even though they weren't mine.

All of these are in my favorites list, and some of them were even in my cart for a little bit! Hopefully they'll find a good home with BAB.

Did you make any early planning purchases that later weren't just quite right? How did you handle it?
