The Designer: Claire Pettibone

The Inspiration: "It was a time of opulence, exuberance, decadence and extravagance," says Pettibone of the Gilded Age, which served as inspiration for her Fall 2016 line. "The collection is about encompassing the imagination and artistry of a bygone era, alluding to a dream world where beauty reigns."

The Looks: Exuding old-world opulence and regal romance, Pettibone presented looks that paid homage to the age of sartorial indulgence. Pearl details, gold embellishments, heirloom fabrics and exquisite embroidery were modernized with unexpected pops of black and pink, and formal silhouettes were juxtaposed with scalloped hemlines and light tulle overlays. Evoking an aesthetic that's both unabashedly feminine and decidedly romantic, Pettibone's bridal looks will undoubtedly stand the test of time.
