A Romantic Elopement in Bali

A Romantic Elopement in Bali

When photographer, Audra Wrisley, was planning a trip with her husband to Indonesia last July, they quickly decided that squeezing in a styled shoot somewhere along the way would be a definite must. After reaching out to Elvira of Hari Indah, plans got underway for a beautiful editorial at the amazing Pelangi Estate right outside of Ubud, Bali. But little did they know at the time, the models they hired for the shoot would end up actually tying the knot!

Audra tells us, We envisioned a shoot that would capture the authentic Balinese and Javanese styles of the property, with a vintage-colonial flair using accents that we brought in ourselves. To balance the lush jungle scenery, we opted for softer, faded tonal palate of faded pink, orange, greens and blues.

A pretty suite, to echo the beauty of the Bali setting, by Jolly Edition.

Our recently engaged models Alex + Magdalena traveled from Thailand to be part of the shoot, and it was their free-spirited presence and courageous love that turned the shoot from being simply beautiful, into something truly special. Alex, who left his desk job two years ago for a trip around the globe with no end in sight, had met Magdalena at a hostel in Warshaw, the capital of her native Poland in the summer of 2014. As they arrived at Pelangi Estate on the morning of the shoot, they completely fell in love with its beauty and serenity. When Magdalena was in make-up (by Emma Augustine Makeup), they decided that they could not imagine a better scenario to actually tie the knot.

An hour later, on the breathtaking sundeck right outside the main villa overlooking the river, Magdalena and Alex improvised their vows and sealed their commitment to each other with a local priest overseeing the beautiful ceremony. A magical moment to all of those present, instantly engraved in our memories forever.

Bloom Fine Flowers crafted the most stunning florals for the setting. They were the perfect pop of color against the serene oasis estate backdrop.

We love how spontaneous these two were!

A perfect, intimate tablescape featuring a pink, peach and gold palette and lots of romantic blooms.

Big thanks to Audra and the talented team of creatives below for sharing their work with us today!

And congrats to Magdalena + Alex on their spontaneous surprise elopement in Bali!
