Nurses Alia and Justin have already visited 26 countries together, so it was no surprise that they chose a travel theme for their wedding. Along with a chic navy and gold colour palette, the couple added several worldly touches to their reception decor including a map seating chart and travel photo table numbers featuring shots of the pair in exotic locales like Puno, Peru and Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

In addition to their travels, a shabby-chic feel inspired the decor. Lace tablecloths, woodsy centrepieces and simple wildflowers created a charming look, while twinkle lights lent an element of cozy warmth to the space. Also adding to the countryside feel of the wedding was the rustic look of their historic venue, Fort Gibraltar.

The entire ceremony was a family affair from beginning to end. After the bride's father and step-father walked her down the aisle, her brother performed the marriage ceremony as siblings and close friends of the pair looked on.

Post-ceremony, the guests helped themselves to cupcakes from the dessert table, which was decorated with both the bride and groom's grandparents' wedding photos.

While the wedding was full of diverse cultural influences, one of the couple's favourite details was the Winnipeg-brewed St. James Pale Ale served at the reception.

Once their big day was over, this jet-setting duo set off again for a honeymoon in Greece, Turkey and the South of France.
