Anna and Kirill's Golden Hour Engagement Shoot....

Anna and Kirill's Golden Hour Engagement Shoot....

Afternoon Lovely Peeps and Happy Friday!

We have a truly beautiful engagement shoot to share with you all today. In fact, it is so beautiful that all I want to do right now is escape to the countryside with Mr D and try to recreate some of these images. Even if we managed to just capture one of the two of us that is half as good as these, I would be happy!

Sent across the channel by the Kasia Bacq, a Belgium photographer whose style I have completely fallen in love with, and featuring the gorgeous Anna and Kirill, this shoot epitomises everything I love about engagement shoots. The location, the style, the romance and love between two people. Kasia has captured it all so beautifully and has used the surrounding countryside to not only bring out Anna and Kirill's individual personalities but also their obvious love for each other. It's perfect.

"Anna & Kirill participated in the engagement shoot giveaway I held a month back." Kasia told me.

"We decided to shoot in Mechels Broek, a very beautiful part of birds reserve. They are born models, which made my work so much easier and joyful! We had an amazing golden hour light and even though the mosquitoes where really aggressive, it was so hard to leave this magical place. Anna & Kirill are both Russians, living in Belgium, all in love and cuddles. I was such a pleasure to look at them, I absolutely loved every minute of the session."

We asked Anna and Kirill how they met, who proposed and what they have planned for their wedding.

We met on the internet via a poetry sharing website. It all started with commenting each other's work and then we moved on to emails, chatting, skype and finally after a little bit more than a year we met for real!

Our first date was in Moscow. We walked around the city for a couple of hours. It started snowing just for us so it was super romantic. When we got cold and tired of walking we went to eat sushi in a restaurant with a view on the Red Square. We laughed, we had some awkward moments together. It was a very cute and romantic date.

The first proposal that Kirill made was on our first date!! But obviously we didn't really take it seriously!

The real proposal was made on the plane that we took together to see my family in the South of Russia. Kirill loves flying and planes just like I do so he decided to improvise and it was really cool!

Actually we already had our civil wedding which was really small and private - basically no guests at all as we had no time to organize it. However, we still dream to organize something special for our religious wedding. We want it to take place in St.Petersburg. I dream of a dress from Rosa Clara and of renting a boat and sailing the whole evening on the beautiful channels of my favorite city. I guess the style would be organic with a little vintage touch.

I discovered Kasia's work when I saw an advertisement on Facebook for an engagement session giveaway that she organized. I loved her style and the tones of her pictures which looked a little bit film like. As I am a film photographer myself, it's quite a challenge for me to find a photographer whose work I really like!
After enjoying scrolling through Kasia's work, I applied to her contest and even though I didn't have a lot of hope because usually I'm not a good winner, I was surprised to discover that we were among the "chosen ones". It was so exciting!

I'm grateful to Kasia for this giveaway, me and my husband had such a great time and we loved the pictures! It was a beautiful day.

If it's a wedding festival, I would enjoy going to the French festival Love/ Etc. There are a lot of french wedding vendors and photographers that I would love to meet.
