With the amount of time we spend doing our makeup (and the $$$ spent), we take great effort in making sure it's strong enough to survive any situation. No thunderstorm, humid summer day, rowdy pool party or heartbreaking romantic movie can smudge our water-resistant mascara. Nice try, Mother Nature! But, before you hit up the makeup aisle and reach for everything labeled "waterproof," you should know a few things first:

DO: Use an Oil-Free Moisturizer

To ensure that even the sturdiest of waterproof makeup stays put, be sure to slather on an oil-free moisturizer first. DON'T: Forget to Use Primer
