Allane & Wim's Bordeaux Game Farm Wedding - Wedding Friends

Outdoor weddings are rather popular in South Africa. This is unsurprising with the vast amount of beautiful local venues. This wedding story takes place on a lovely farm landscape, teeming with welcoming gorgeous trees.

Allane and Wim exchanged vows on the beautiful, Bordeaux Game Farm, with gorgeous tree branches looming overhead. Photographed by Louise Vorster, the happy couple's beautiful day is captured in all it's perfection. Allane tells us a little more about their story...

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

One of my best friends (and also Bridesmaid at the wedding) introduced me to my future husband. After a very recent split from my long-term ex-boyfriend, I had needed a date for a wedding in Cape Town. She suggested that I take along her then boyfriend's (now Fiance), middle brother. She said that he would be a fun date and that I would not have to worry about him all the time, because his brother would also then be there. So Wim decided to be my date to the wedding, and only after we came back from Cape Town started dating.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

We were on holiday in Turkey with my best friend and her husband. The 2 men suggested that they will organise and arrange the boat trip that we had wanted to do the one day. Very mysterious and not giving us much detail on how the boat looks, we finally made it on board the "Pink Flamingo". We stopped for a few dips in the water and after a wonderful lunch, Wim ushered me to the front of the boat. At the same time, a small little boat passed by, with 2 men holding a banner with the words "Gal jy met my trou?". I couldn't stop smiling and before I knew it Wim was down on his one knee asking me the big question

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

The time leading up to the ceremony on the big day was very peaceful and quiet at the Bridal suite. The weather was cool and cloudy, and luckily no heatwave like we expected. With out a doubt, my favourite part of our big day has to be the ceremony under the big Maroela tree where we made our vows in front of God, our family and friends. Our pastor had given the most special message that will forever stay close to our hearts, and I will never forget how handsome my husband looked waiting for me at the end of the aisle. The rest of the evening went by so fast, but we danced the night away with all our guest, in the beautiful white hall decorated with navy, gold and white items and beautiful white orchids everywhere.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

Crisp, clean and stylish decor together with the african bush as background, rounded off with laughter and dancing until early morning hours.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Try to take in every moment of the Big day, as time flies by when you are having fun. It is difficult to remember every little detail of your wedding day, but try to remember the time spent with friends and family, whether it be on the dance floor or having a glass of wine. In the end, those are the memories you can truly remember forever.
