Model Eva and her fiancee Adrian travelled from their home in Slovenia- a small but beautiful country nestled between Italy and Croatia along the Adriatic Coast- to Italy for their destination wedding in Trieste, a gorgeous city where they love to spend weekends. Their bride and groom portraits were taken in the Savoia Excelsior Palace Hotel, after which they strolled around Castello Miramare Gardens with Claudia from Ladies & Lord who captured their day beautifully.

HOW THEY MET

"We love every love story, but we believe that our is the best. We met in a high school- love at first sight, of course. However, life sometimes takes its own turns and so we lost sight of each other. We met ten years later and the spark was still there. You just know when you meet the one, right? So after a year and a half of dating, Adrian popped the question and I said yes!

DESTINATION DECISION

Then the planning began (alas!). Of course I wanted to do everything myself but I came to realize you just can't do it on your own. We live in Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital and wanted to get married in Trieste, which we love dearly. It is a city we visit on weekends, where we love to shop and drink coffee, we come for a day at the sea for some simple "dolce far niente". In the end we settled on having the legalities in Slovenia and travelling to Trieste for our wedding portraits with Claudia from Ladies & Lord. We were so excited about the beautifully landscaped gardens of Castello Miramare, and chose our favourite hotel- the Savoia Excelsion Palace- for our honeymoon. What a magical place it was: the décor, the luxury and location really made me feel like a princess."

"I met the bride through my makeup artist Sandra of Sfumato Makeup. As an international makeup artist she travels quite a bit and when she told me that Slovenian model Eva Ahačevčič was getting married I was giddy with excitement. Working with pros is always a game changer after all, and Eva and Adrian exude style and elegance whilst in front of the lens. We roamed the historic centre of Triest and wandered around the marvelous gardens of Miramare. The Italians love their brides and grooms and so many well-wishers followed us around for selfies and backstage pics. A little paparazzi feeling on your wedding day doesn't hurt, right?"
