Dreamy Destination Wedding in Thailand

via

Today, we've got a romantic beach wedding to share with you guys from one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Harriet & Paul are a wanderlusting couple, who chose to embrace their love of travel with a destination wedding in Phuket, Thailand.

Their dreamy day was photographed by Sandra Aberg and planned to perfection by The Wedding Bliss Thailand.

With luxurious blooms, breezy textures and a ceiling of fairy lights, Harriet & Paul's wedding was elegant, refined and steeped in romance.

Paying homage to their setting, they said their vows under palm trees, with Patong Bay as their backdrop, followed by a sunset cocktail reception.

As their planner, Sonia at The Wedding Bliss observed, their wedding celebrated everything that makes a destination wedding so special, "Getting together with family and friends around the world, enjoying the time together in gorgeous tropical location."

The Wedding

A true reflection of what destination wedding is about: getting together with family and friends around the world, enjoying the time together in gorgeous tropical location, having fun with many planned pre-wedding activities, and then - celebrating with style, emotions and great ocean view. Harriet and Paul's wedding was special to us in a sense that they selected a venue that was our dream working place for a long time. We're talking about Amari Phuket Resort & Spa; a beachfront resort located so close to Patong centre, you'd never believe it! Being party people themselves, Harriet and Paul couldn't miss this opportunity and this decision was the first one of many that made their wedding celebration simply unforgettable. A haven of serenity and 5-star service with amazing views of Patong Bay, with a quick and easy access to the crazy nightlife Patong has to offer.

The wedding ceremony took its place on a charming little lawn of Amari grounds, overlooking the bay. Harriet wanted it to look classy, yet, reflect the fact that it's a destination wedding in Thailand, so we've chosen to place the altar between two beautiful palm trees. Soft, feminine, muted pink and always classic white made a perfect color combination, and together with the rich greens of tropical trees were a perfect balance between elegance and liveliness. As the ceremony finished, our bride and groom together with the bridal party continued with a photoshoot on a unique jetty, as the guests were enjoying their cocktails watching the sun go down.

The Ceremony

Along the planning process, the couple didn't cease to surprise us with their various and numerous hobbies, that also had a very important place in their lives. To start with, they met at a skiing resort in French Canada, travelled the world for their anniversaries, and got engaged on a helicopter ride over downtown Chicago (where Harriet is actually from). How cool is that? Thailand was Harriet's travel-dream destination, so a decision to get married here came very naturally. Besides, it was a golden middle point for their guests, who mostly flew from US, Canada and Australia.

The Bride & Groom

Anyone who was present at this wedding could easily say that this couple are a lot of fun. The fact that they were introduced to their reception dinner with The Game of Thrones theme brought a storm of applause and a great portion of laughter, setting the mood for the whole night. A good friend was DJing all the night, and we could feel that everybody in the room was eagerly waiting to hit the dancefloor! Since the dinner took place in an indoor area, we worked with fairy lights to give it a romantic and dreamy feel, that wouldn't at the same time create an overload. The canopy turned out beautifully, and wasn't asking for a big additional flower decoration, that we kept low-sitting on the table.

The Reception

Food is worth a special mentioning: as a dedicated foodie the bride paid a special attention to make sure that the wedding menu is well-balanced and sophisticated, yet light enough to let people dance hard afterwards. Light Italian aperitivo with top-class parma ham and parmesan, followed by a 3-course Italian dinner menu, including house-made breads, pasta and steaks, - creations of a talented Roman chef Patrizia, didn't leave anyone indifferent.

The Food

A special gem of the night was the party, taking place at above mentioned jetty. A unique location, fresh night breeze, groovy music, custom-made martinis, and a happy, loving couple, - what else could one possibly need for a dream wedding?

The Party

Those lights! So beautiful, right? I love how the ceremony set up was so elegant and luxuriously decorated, yet relaxed and breezy in its atmosphere - the dream combination.
