Destination Wedding in Joshua Tree: Anna + Michael

Destination Wedding in Joshua Tree: Anna + Michael

via

We're pretty over the moon for today's gorgeous wedding - a destination shindig held in one of the best desert towns around, Joshua Tree! Anna + Michael planned their DIY celebration all for under $10,000 which included their honeymoon, travel costs, attire, food, and every other detail imaginable. Pretty inspiring, right? We love how they prove that it can not only be done, but done oh-so well, and we're just the biggest fans of the laid back vibe and bohemian feel of their gorgeous, gorgeous day!

Anna shares, The primary inspiration for our day was just to try and apply our general aesthetic into one day. Bohemian, rocker, and nature oriented objects really resonate with us so we tried to apply those elements into all the details. We wanted to start our marriage off with a bang by making the whole experience an adventure and that really speaks to us because we both have an unwavering urge to explore.

Thanks so much to Laura Goldenberger Photography for the stunning captures below and big congrats to A + M on their recent marriage!

Do you LOVE Anna's dress as much as we do? She took a huge risk by having it made on eBay for $150, thinking that if it came out terribly she'd find a backup. Luckily, instead, it came out incredibly perfect and we seriously couldn't adore it more!!

We really just can't get over this dress! Are any other brides-to-be inspired to have one custom made now? Anna paired her amazing dress find with florals by Stacy Paige Piper and the end look is just so good!

YES to these smoke bomb shots!

We worked extremely hard to get every single detail done right up to the last minute! My mother handmade my veil, as well as the pom pom hanging decor which added a bohemian edge to our ceremony. We created a fun tattoo station which was a huge hit. I purchased geometric wall sconces on amazon and used them as points of interest on our table. We bought our cake from whole foods (Chantilly Flavored) and I placed my favorite raw crystals on them to give it a boho feel. We collected agate slices and drilled holes in them to attach tassels to later have calligraphy on them as seating cards. For the favors, my mother and I hand dyed each cotton bag shibori style (but pink to go with our theme) within each bag was a tiny bottle that contained Joshua Tree seeds. We also had all of our guests hold crystals during our ceremony that we had collected over the years in hopes their love would be manifested into them. For our send off, we tied tons of different ribbons on little tamborines that our guests waved in the air high. We also used bamboo plates that were ecofriendly - we hand dyed each one to tie them into our color scheme.
