Bright and Bold Summer Flowers from McKenzie Powell

Bright and Bold Summer Flowers from McKenzie Powell

There's no better time for bold floral arrangements than in the peak of summer. As floral designer McKenzie Powell says, "working with such bright colors is a refreshing change that instantly conveys energy and excitement. However, there is still a balance to achieve when working with color-touches of earthy browns and dusty blues help to tone down the vibrancy of the bouquet." And when you keep most of the other elements in the arrangement or tablescape neutral, the florals truly shine!

This tablescape is a few steps above a casual backyard dinner party. It's elegant and refined, but still relaxed and approachable. This is the kind of table we can see family and friends sitting around and laughing late into the night.

This wildly beautiful floral centerpiece features dahlias, garden roses, rudbeckia, foxglove, zinnias, phlox, hibiscus foliage, elderberry and pears.

Who can resist a good cheese plate? We love how the bright berries and bold florals really pop against the neutral-toned cheeses.

McKenzie also showed us how this gorgeous tablescape design can translate into beautiful bouquets. These summery bouquets would make a wonderful bride or bridesmaid bouquet, or even both be featured in the same ceremony.

Thanks to Belatheé and McKenzie Powell for sharing this Seasonal Flowers post with us!
