Today's stunning wedding was submitted by the talented Samantha Clifton. Johannes and Marika tied the knot at Langkloof Roses in the beautiful Boland Winelands district.

During our days at Architecture School, we would bump into each other in the hallways - always smiled and greeted one another, perhaps a chat here and there, but nothing more. "Marika has always been an incredibly energetic and amiable person." "Jo, with his charm and dashing good looks, has always been kind, witty and good-hearted." These casual meetings continued over the years until we finally decided to get to know each other better - which we are both thoroughly glad we did! "She has become my best friend, confidant and lover."

We took a stroll along one of our favourite shorelines in South Africa, Hermanus. Jo was looking for the spot where we had sat a few months prior - a bench overlooking the bay. Alas, he struggled to find it, and resolved on a path-less-traveled... We come out in a beautiful, secluded area where we took a seat on the cliff's edge and had a spectacular view . After what felt like a lengthy stare at the ocean, Jo got onto his knee at which moment Marika's face went through a series of expressions from confusion to excitement. After her clarification of "what exactly are you asking" she said YES, ecstatically!

"All my dreams of how Marika would look where totally blown away when I first saw her walking over the lawn." We loved taking our bare foot stroll around the farm with Samantha and Angelique (photographers), laughing and being a bit giddy with excitement. "I also enjoyed the quiet times, where Jo and I would share a moment or a chat." Having our families and friends all together, for the ceremony and the celebration, made it an incredibly joyous day.

Authentically us, simple yet bold.

Remember what this special day is truly about. The union between two people who love each other and desire to be eternally bound (i.e. spend their lives together). All the 'to-dos', lists, preparations, arrangements... will fall away. There will certainly be unforeseen things (it's not possible to plan for everything), and sometimes things don't go according to plan anyway... But no one will know! So put your mind at ease, and enjoy the festive and wondrous day. In the end, the lifetime you will share together is so much greater than one day alone.
