As someone who's constantly looking for new and awesome indie jewelers, I'm happy to explore the world of our sponsor Metalicious. Metalicious was started by Stephanie Maslow-Blackman, in a tiny corner of her apartment, where she made every ring by hand. Today she works with a small, hand-selected group of artisans in her New York studio - making each ring from recycled metals and ethically sourced gemstones. And, saving the world at the same time!

As you can see, Metalicious is a concoction of high-quality, customized, unique jewelry designs, catering to, well, us - the offbeat crowd. Each ring is handmade, using metalsmithing, wax carving, and CAD techniques by Stephanie and her team. And they only work with recycled metals, and ethically sourced gemstones. In fact, Metalicious was built to focus on both social and environmental sustainability...

First of all, they only source recycled metals, and ethically mined gemstones, from companies they trust. ON TOP OF THAT they donate a portion of their profits to City Harvest - a local non-profit organization that provides meals to over 1.4 million New Yorkers a year. As Stephanie put it: "We believe in giving back to our community. As a company, we take work days to volunteer with City Harvest, it's a small way to give back and provide much needed help the people who need it the most."

Basically, that unbelievably gorgeous bling on your finger is not only a symbol of your undying love, but a great way to support the environment and take care of people who are taking care of people. How's that for symbolic jewelry!?

Stephanie also loves working one-on-one with her clients to create heirloom quality work. So if you're looking for ethical wedding rings that don't just look good, but help support awesome communities who will continue to do good things in the world, then get in touch with Metalicious!
