Modern Moroccan Wedding Inspiration (From Dallas!)

One of my favourite things about weddings, is that anything is possible.

You can construct a circus tent in a field, turn a warehouse into a wooded wonderland, or in the case of today's shoot, you can have a romantic Moroccan-inspired wedding, in Dallas.

Featuring luxe decor, contemporary florals, and romantic, fine art styling, this shoot is a modern take on a Moroccan wedding, with lots of ideas that any couple could borrow for their big day.

Photographed so beautifully by Jenny McCann, and designed and coordinated by Sarah Kee of Keestone Events, scroll down for handmade stationery, pretty jewels, and romantic decor inspiration.

But first up, let's hear from the lovely Sarah about the concept behind the shoot.

From the Stylist

For this editorial shoot, Jenny, the photographer and I were so inspired by the Moroccan wedding blanket. Its cream color and various textures flecked with sequins charmed both of us and the shoot quickly evolved to include further elements from the faraway land. We found the perfect location with dramatic cliff faces and the clearest waters in a beautiful shade of blue from the natural limestone. To balance out the blue and rock surfaces, we incorporated a more neutral palette and let the textiles and textures speak for themselves. Moroccan Interiors provided all the breathtaking and intricate textiles from the region - many of which were hand spun and crafted with so much care. When the groom wraps his bride in the wedding blanket on the cliff, it was like magic. We were transported into their world - one of intrigue, intimacy and beauty. To bring in a pop of color, palm fronds were utilized with ivory hues. It was important that we showcase the natural surroundings, but still maintain the soft, organic look. That was achieved through the flowing full skirt of the dress, plush rugs and stationery crafted from handmade paper to tie it all together. We used a real couple for this shoot. One thing that cannot be faked is the obvious chemistry between the two and how much they care for each other. Both have been through a lot and the tender moments Jenny was able to capture is a reason why we all love what we do.

Isn't it dreamy? So romantic - I love the henna cake (they're so popular right now!) and the wedding blanket is so beautiful.

Thanks so much to Jenny McCann, Sarah Kee of Keestone Events and their team of talented wedding vendors for sharing their Moroccan wedding inspiration with us.
