The Theme | What was the look and feel of the shoot?

"A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment."
- Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice)

There is universally something utterly romantic about old English love novels. These novels create the perfect setup for the ultimate loves stories that include a heroine on a journey to find love either in a beautiful English landscape setting with charming cottages and open fields or beautiful public balls held in enchanted mansions filled with opulence.

This styled shoot explores the romance of these beautiful, idyllic spaces through an elegant tablescape with elegant silverware, vintage handkerchiefs with embroidery and loose organic floral arrangements with dark English forest greens and hints of this year's pantone pair, Rose Quartz and Serenity. The Indoor setting has reminiscent elements of an English cottage with enchanting candlelight, lanterns and a fireplace accompanied with a traditional old English wedding laurel as part of the backdrop. The simplistic white wedding cake is decorated with the flowers used in the table arrangements and placed in the classic English barn setting where we often find our favourite leading ladies.

In the olden days no public ball would be held without a formal invitation. The invitation suite's look is a combination of a formal layout with matching handwritten emerald calligraphy and swashes accompanied with a soft pink envelope and an artistic printed inner of the painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard's the Swing, also found on the vintage crockery, reminding one of the Baroque paintings found in the beautiful mansions of the Edwardian era and matches the shoots hues perfectly.

The beautiful bygone era dresses add to the romance and enchantment with their sheer detail, fine jewelled elements and old school charm cut to make any leading man blush at the sight of such splendour. The soft sophisticated hair with matching elegant broaches and jewellery is beautifully paired with soft make-up tones of browns and pinks for a natural innocent bridal look.

In the last setting our leading lady finds herself in a outdoor field with large trees at sunset as we so often read about in our favourite classic novels, where our heroine contemplates the decisions of her love journey.
