Festival Brides Love: Rewritten Bridesmaid Dresses

Morning, beautiful people! Do we have a treat for your eyes this morning? Heck. Yes. We've caught up with the amazing duo behind Rewritten, an über cool bridesmaid dress brand. Rewritten offers everything you've been looking for, six beautiful, flattering styles, available in four stunning colours and all at a totally reasonable price while not sacrificing on quality.

So, whether you're hoping for matching dresses, or bridesmaids all in the same colour, but wearing different styles, or maybe you want to give your maids free reign with style and colour choice while maintaining a sense of coherence, you need to check out the beautiful Rewritten ...

We are two friends who love travelling, partying and most importantly, we love designing dresses for all of those awesome bridesmaids out there.

Katie - Burning Man. I have been to Glastonbury every year for the last 10 years but Burning Man is the ultimate in crazy hedonism, I just know I would love it.

Fran - Coachella. As unbelievable as it is to Katie, I am not much of a camper and prefer the glamping or hotel option to accompany my festivals, and for me Coachella would be awesome - I love everything Californian.

We both got married in the last couple of years and, frustrated by the limited choice of bridesmaids dresses available in the UK; we decided to create our own. As a fashion graduate from Edinburgh College of Art, I (Frances) was excited at the prospect of designing again and Katie, having spent over ten years working in sales and branding relished the opportunity to work for herself. Following our initial idea (which we came up with on a night out) things took off and we were excited to launch Rewritten at the end of 2016 - it's been a crazy whirlwind since then as we have opened our studio in North London and are working with a number of awesome retail partners. As anyone who has started a business will tell you, there are ups and downs, it is both ridiculously exciting and utterly terrifying in equal measure but that is what drives you.

Rewritten is designed for all brides and bridesmaids out there who are looking for chic, cool dresses that you will want to wear again and again. We identified a gap in the market between high street brands and designer boutique labels and that's where we sit, it's all about contemporary designs in double layered flowing fabrics that move beautifully and are priced below £160. We take an entirely modern approach to design and branding in our unique choice of colours and clean lines.

Our launch collection features six styles, each available in four unique colours - Chianti, Concrete, Peachy and Bluebell. It was important to us when designing the collection that there was a style suited to every size bridesmaid, and that you could have all of your girls in different dresses but the same colourway. One inspiration for the collection came from a beautiful floaty chiffon caplet that my mother-in-law wore on her wedding day in the 70's. There is something so bohemian and yet so contemporary about the silhouette and I think that is true of the entire Rewritten collection. The fabric we use is a crepe polyester which drapes really beautifully and is fantastic for swishing around the dancefloor in (this was key!), the dresses are also fully lined throughout in the same fabric and feature concealed zips and covered buttons. Plus we wanted to create dresses and separates that you would want to wear again - we call it sustainable bridesmaids shopping - no more wardrobes full of dresses you will never wear again.

There are a few different ways you can shop Rewritten. We hold all of our dresses in stock and so we are able to offer a free 3-5 working day delivery service on our website www.WeAreRewritten.com. The website has all of the information you might need on sizing and we offer free returns (21 day policy) and free fabric swatches before buying. In addition we have just opened our first showroom in North London where we offer weekday, weeknight and Saturday appointments and we have recently launched with stockists in Glasgow, Belfast and Essex - all of the details are on our website.

Choose styles that your girls feel comfortable and happy in - there is literally nothing worse than putting your bridesmaid in something they hate or would never wear. It's just mean.
