We've got a sweet summer mountain wedding to share today! What do I love the most? The wildflowers and fresh greenery everywhere you look, especially the bride's colorful bouquet and flower crown (and mini babies' breath versions on the adorable flower girls). Of course I also love that they included Snippet & Ink founder Kathryn's sister Lora's super cute dessert truck The Bumblebee, which was the hit of the night!

Bride Courtney's incredible wildflower bouquet is made entirely from florals grown right on the property!

What was the best advice you received as a bride? Surround yourself with people who will accept your style and uniqueness as a couple throughout the planning process! It's so much more fun that way. Also, invest in a day-of coordinator! She was amazing and the day ran so smoothly.

The Ceremony

Why did you choose this location for your ceremony? The mountains have always been a place of solitude and peace for me. We visit Colorado at least once a year and thought it would be so special to have a mountain wedding. When we stumbled upon the Lyons Farmette and River Bend, we knew we had found our place!

Did you include any DIY details in your ceremony? We had some talented friends and family members create some signage for our day including a hanging banner and chalkboard signs. Plus, we created paper cones to hold our petal confetti for our send-off. We placed the paper cones into my great-grandmother's suitcase.

Your ceremony in three words. (e.g. religious, non-traditional, playful, musical, etc.) Christ-centered, intimate, enchanting.

What was your ceremony music? Live, acoustic versions of the following: Processional: Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles / Recessional: Better Together by Jack Johnson / During ceremony: Bride's grandmother sang Unforgettable by Nat King Cole and Come Away with Me by Norah Jones.

Who officiated your ceremony? How did you choose him/her? A family member officiated our ceremony. We wanted someone who knew both of us very well so this was an easy choice!

How did you go about planning your ceremony? We had several elements that we knew we wanted to incorporate into our ceremony. Our pastor is a family member and he was able to give us a template that he usually follows for weddings. From there, we were able to personalize our special time. We chose scripture readings for both of our mothers to read during the ceremony. We also had live, acoustic music for our ceremony and reception and they played a song while my grandmother sang. It was such a lovely time! Our ceremony contains moments that we will forever treasure.

What were your ceremony readings? 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 and Ephesians 4:1-6

What were your vows like? We used traditional vows provided by our pastor.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding ceremony? We really felt at peace during our ceremony. The venue was so amazing - cliffs, a flowing river, light, mountain air. I had been very nervous throughout the morning and, during the ceremony, I finally felt at peace. We were surrounded by the people that we love the most and God's beautiful background!

Is there anything else that you'd like to share about your wedding ceremony? If the tradition means a lot to you, keep them! However, if you don't feel a meaningful attachment, don't feel like you need to keep it in your ceremony! We wanted our ceremony to be a covenant between us and the Lord. We decided against some traditions and replaced them with some elements that meant so much more to us.

Did you include any other traditions in your wedding? We actually opted out of some of the traditions of the day. For example, we did not have a cake cutting or bouquet/garter toss. We were truly in love with our venue and wanted the evening to be spent enjoying the magical space with each other, our family and friends and knew that our schedule would be packed if we had included everything. We traded these elements in exchange for more time to be spent together.

The Reception

How would you describe your reception? Magical, light-hearted, joyful! Our reception was a time to remember! We had lawn games, a fire pit, vintage furniture pieces, a dreamy bar tree complete with antique chandeliers hanging among the twinkle lights, and a dance floor right next to the St. Vrain River. It was everything we dreamed it would be. Our flowers were locally grown at the Lyons Farmette. They were so wild and dreamy; one of my most favorite details of the night.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? The natural beauty of summertime in the mountains.

Are there any DIY details from your reception you'd like to tell us about? We searched in vintage stores for our brass candlesticks that we used on our dinner tables. We also had a family friend make our napkins for our dinner!

What advice do you have for other couples in the midst of planning a wedding? As you are preparing for your wedding day, remember to prepare for your marriage as well. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of planning and it's SO important to remember to prepare for your marriage.

What type of cake or dessert did you serve? We really wanted to try some non-traditional ideas during our reception. We found the most adorable dessert food truck through the Lyons Farmette vendors. When we saw The Bumblebee Truck for the first time, we knew it would be the perfect treat for our wedding desserts! We had several options for our guests. Each one was fantastic and The Bumblebee Truck looked picturesque during our whimsical night. The menu included vanilla sugar doughnut holes, malt shop cookies, apple pie, and '62 Chevy Cake (vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream, mocha crumble, and toffee crunch).

What was your favorite moment or part of the reception? Towards the end of the night, I found a quiet spot above the dance floor in a sweet, vintage chair with a warm cup of coffee. It was between both of my grandmothers which was very special. As I looked around, I saw our closest friends and family members laughing and dancing, some were playing lawn games, gathered around the fire pit in conversation, couples were walking along the river, all below the soft glow of the twinkle lights in the mountain trees. It was such a great moment that I will always remember.

What was your first dance song? I've Got You by Jack Johnson.

If you had it to do over again, is there anything you would do differently? No! We absolutely loved our wedding day. We wouldn't change a thing.
