Brittany and Jason's wedding has all the elements of a relaxed, romantic celebration. Coordinated by Kelsey Rae Designs, the ceremony takes places surrounded by the scenery of Temecula Creek Inn, and following that is a laid-back family-style reception. Carla Kayes Floral Design brings the gorgeous with an abundance of peach, pink, merlot and coral florals in everything from the ceremony arbor, to the bouquets, to the table arrangements. Maria Longhi Photography was the girl behind the lens working her magic to capture all the sun-soaked moments of Brittany and Jason's big day.

What made the wedding special and unique?

The guests and the vendors! At the end of the day, Jason and I look back and thank the vendors through and through for all of their hard work and dedication that they put in to make my wedding dream a reality. They did such a fantastic job! And our guests were family members and close friends that made it all memorable! Without them, we would have no one to show our love to or celebrate the day with!

Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!

The gown is a Hayley Paige - Elysia! I actually first saw it on someone else as I was trying on another dress at Blush Bridal Couture in Tustin, CA. Once I tried it on, I knew it was the one. I didn't think I was going to be that bride that had "the moment", but I instantly pictured my day and I cried! There was no talking me out of it after that moment. When you know, you know!

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

We used Jason's parents' champagne glasses that they toasted with at their wedding (43 years of marriage this year!), our wedding party walked down to Vitamin String Quartet playing "Don't Stop Believing", which Jay picked out because of one of his favorite movies The Wedding Singer, my good friend from grade school, Ryann Maray, choreographed our first dance, and our Pastor was Jason's family friend from when he was a young kid.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

The ceremony! While the dinner, the dancing, the cutting of the cake, the speeches, etc. were all fantastic and definitely memorable and enjoyable, the ceremony was hands down EVERYTHING that I had envisioned for my wedding. My dad walking me up to give me away is something that I had always imagined to be a turning point in my life and it definitely was! Holding my fiancé's hand and exchanging our vows was that special moment where time stood still and I was able to truly embrace the words and feelings exchanged!

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

Jay and I first met working together at Mimi's Cafe in 2005. I was 16 years old and he was 19 at the time. We would hang out together with one of our mutual friends, Corey (the best man), and create some of the best memories while we were enjoying our youth! Over the next couple of years, we grew individually on different paths, but even still we would occasionally run into each other at Sunday Football gatherings of friends and family. After some persistent behavior and a mutual love for sports, Jay and I became official in January 2014 and it was the best decision ever! When I was single, I remember telling my friends, Holly and Oscar (part of the wedding party too), that I feel like I have so much love to give, yet nobody to love. Well that untapped love for no one went quickly to 1 and then to 2 because it wasn't long before Jay and I found out we were pregnant. Love comes in a variety of forms and although it was scary and not at all planned, our love for our baby girl, Maddalyn, only expanded our love for each other! So with no further delay, in August of 2014, Jay proposed in the simplest and sweetest form. I got home from work to open the door to our apartment with the love of my life on his knee (shaking like crazy!), a Green Bay Packers jersey that read Mrs. Slater, and a GORGEOUS rose gold ring that he picked out. The moment I said yes was the moment that this crazy, unexpected life all seemed to fall into its place.
