Dance The Night Away

“Would you be available to photograph my wedding on Oct. 30th on Catalina Island?” was the question I got asked just 3 months ago. My response was “Actually I am, but isn’t this pretty short notice considering the location and scale of this wedding… “ to which she replied, “well, we had a photographer, but last month he died…” Wow. He too was 35, but came down with something and passed away near Chicago a few months ago. So doing this wedding was more than a blessing and honestly the bride/groom were SO much fun, even though they INSISTED that I sing karaoke with them the night before. Luckily they had an open bar which helped me get on stage and serenade the bridesmaids and at least a couple creepy guys. I can’t get past how amazing the venue is. This shot came because spontaneously, the groom grabbed his new bride and took her to the dance floor in the middle of this ginormous dome building. She kicked off her shoes and just danced together under the 40’ roof and all 63 of their guests. This is completely candid (can you believe it) Be my fan-riend
