Weddings

Today marked my first Marriage Convalidation ceremony. For those who don't know what a convalidation ceremony is, the short explanation is that couples who are not married Catholic often want their union recognized by the Church at a later date. After a period of time, they may then seek to have their union officially recognized by the Church in a brief ceremony. Long story short, the Catholic Church calls this a convalidation of a marriage. In photographer's terms, this can me an equally beautiful ceremony celebrating a lifetime of love, minus 95.5% of the stress involved with the traditional wedding ceremony. All in all, it was a beautiful ceremony celebrating Ashley+James and their union in the Catholic Church. Catholic ceremonies are very distinct in that they are full of tradition in their celebrations. As a photographer, it is especially beautiful to photograph a ceremony in a Catholic Church, provided you have good lighting. This was CERTAINLY not a problem for this ceremony, as the lighting and decorative nature provided a gorgeous backdrop for a couple who have come together to celebrate a lifetime of love and support. I was honestly stunned by the beauty of this church after pressing the shutter button and looking at my lcd screen. It was truly a joy being a part of this day with both Ashley and James.
