I can’t love this. That’s what my three year old says about any number of things these days; a new type of string cheese brand, a bruised strawberry, a linen shirt. And now, I think it’s fair to say a pandemic. I’ve been a little quiet on here because I guess in truth, on a platform that leans into the perfect, I haven’t felt I really had the perfect thing to say. We are home, sort of settling into the screeching halt that is hitting my photography business, like so many other small businesses, and also trying to find some sort of new routine that drives the work forward. And yes, I’m doing all the things… staying positive... soaking up family time...getting a lot of work done...having days that aren’t so great…having days that are fine but didn’t feel hugely productive...having days where I’ve gotten a million things done and having days where it felt like zero was accomplished. It’s a strange new normal and I’m hopeful that it doesn’t last particularly long. I’m not one for endless zoom calls or inspiration filled webinars - I’m gravitating more towards practical education for improving my business and finding joy in the new technical skills I’m trying out - but I do know that right now, alone in my studio, I am also finding an abundance of comfort pouring in from my wedding community and a great deal of gratitude for my clients. There will be more weddings I know, and gosh am I ready to get back to shooting them.
