Peter and Rebecca married at the beginning of the year at Fingask Castle, Scotland. They opted for a late wedding ceremony so that they could include all of their guests and keep them entertained throughout. They created a cosy and personal day, with bonfire, sparklers and different types of candle on each table.

It's Friday peeps and to draw the week to a super stylish end I have a gorgeous Scottish wedding today. Bride Lizzie is a hat designer and designed her own head dress, her bridesmaids and her mum's butterfly hat. Lizzie and Emeka married on the 3rd May 2014 at Ardtornish Estate.

Scotland is such a beautiful and interesting choice for a destination wedding, but is sometimes overlooked in the search for the perfect wedding location. Sunny weather may not be guaranteed, but the trade off is dramatic wild scenery, quality local produce, historically significant places everywhere you look, and very fine whiskey!

We are both makers by nature and very much appreciate craftspeople and artisans.

Rosie and Colin live in London but wanted to get married in Scotland, where Colin is from. They took inspiration from lots of places for the theme, but the three key elements were skulls, Scotland and vintage 1920s touches. "We took inspiration from all over the place for our wedding!"

We're not a massive fan of typical beach weddings here at Fly Away Bride so when this one landed in our inbox we were very intrigued. We also knew it would be a definite fit for us as it came from Nordica Photography, one of our favourite photography teams. Couple Emma and Jonny sought a location with views to die for and a relaxed vibe, so Scotland was the ideal place to go.

Robert and Katy's Scottish wedding was themed around lots of different things but skulls and 80s movies played a big part! "The wedding theme turned out to be a bit eclectic, with elements Robert loved like 80s films (they were our table names), a pork pie wedding cake and elements that had a slightly gothic feel such as a skull centrepiece at the head table and 'til death do us part' favour boxes."
