Andrea and Tristan wanted a simple, urban wedding that reflected their love of their local area and each other. They chose Hobba has their venue, a super cool event space in Prahran, Melbourne, a stone's throw from where they live. The day started with them getting ready together at their own home.

Jakob and Zoey were married in Melbourne in November. Their reception was at Thornbury Bowls Club. The whole day was a really casual affair. The bride and her bridesmaids all wore vintage dresses and the whole day had a 1950s vibe. They were even married by Elvis!

Happy Monday Dotties! We've been bundling up this week and loving it! Even though it's winter time, life still goes on - with all its busy-ness - work and play - and then you're fitting in some wedding planning as well - no wonder you're feeling a little frazzled!

There were not many more words appropriate for Ally and Steve's graceful Melbourne wedding than elegant and sophisticated, and for a couple who wanted a modern day of urban simplicity well I think they nailed it. Ally and Steve worked with Clarisse Photography to capture their wedding.

It's the biggest day in Australian horse racing, and for many of us the only time we go trackside and frock up for a punt. For those working today, there will still be some excitement about the office. Fascinators may be worn, sweeps may be organised. So what about us lonesome work-at-homers?

Happy Monday Dotties! Mr Polka and I hopped, skipped and jumped out of town last weekend, a little spontaneity if you will. Something we're quite terrible at if I am honest. So it's with a refreshed frame of mind that I'm back today at the Polka Dot HQ in much cooler weather with a week of wedding inspiration in store for you!

I recently took some time to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne as I have several weddings booked in that are being held there. What a place! It's breathtaking in both scale and execution. There are various zones, representing different parts of Australia all with their native plants and some absolutely stunning landscaping.

To say that I adore Stef and Clint's Melbourne City glamour wedding would be an understatement. Her beautiful beaded gown, her dapper groom and the elegant features of their wedding reception all tie together to create a truly gorgeous day. Anitra Wells was there to capture the beauty and their memories, and to share it with you.

This week has been slap bang back to work all round! After one last quick splash in the ocean we said goodbye to Port Douglas and hopped on a plane to Brisbane to teach our first class.. The babes that came along to Bleeding Heart Gallery last weekend were of course as wonderful as we could have hoped for, in fact I don't think Gala, Shauna and I have laughed as much during a class before!

Sarah and Damien's Melbourne wedding was DIY heavy and full of load of handmade touches including the cake, flowers, stationery and even the bridesmaids' dresses which the bride and her friend Anna made from fabric bought in Tokyo!

Happy Monday Dotties! It is a little quiet this week at HQ as our lovely Ms Rose headed off on the weekend to the USA! She's even planning a grand hike while over there (I can't wait to see her photos!)

Annabel and Steve met in a nightclub in Scotland. The Aussie bride and her English groom were married eight years later in Melbourne, where they now live. "Our wedding was rustic and vintage in styling with an urban setting and with a nod to our international roots", Annabel said.

Clara and David headed to the spot they had their first date for their engagement photos. If there is something more romantic than that I'd like to know, because to me, there is something magical about going back to a palce where the future was unknown as a couple who are preparing to spend the rest of their lives together.

Since we last spoke I've been in three different cities, two countries and taught over 90 people... Not what you would call a low key week then! After saying goodbye to our Melbourne digs at 5am last Friday we hopped on an early flight to Auckland. Our time in this city was short - literally only two and a half days, and with the majority of it spent teaching there wasn't too much time to take in the sights.
