Applying Foundation

Applying Foundation

via

The foundation application process is the first step in doing a beauty makeup. Before considering which type of foundation that will work for each individual the condition if the skin must be evaluated.

Skin that is in good shape will generally have an even surface, making for a smoother overall application, however an oily skin needs attention, so first remove the oily residue because if this is not done prior to the application of the foundation the excessive oil on the skin combined with the oil will not allow the foundation to adhere to the skin. Also a discoloured skin needs full coverage application of foundation.

Types Of Foundation

We have different type of foundations but the most popular ones are cream and liquid foundations.

Cream Foundation is the choice of foundation for maximum coverage, it has a high concentration of pigment. Cream foundation works well to even out skin tones, and it sits perfectly well on the face.

Liquid Foundation is a good choice for a light or sheer coverage, it is easy to use and it can be used for body makeup.

Testing your foundation

Foundation should never be tested at the back of the hand because in most cases the face is slightly darker or lighter that the back of the hand. The best part of the face to test for foundation is at the jawline:

Apply a little of your foundation on the tip of your finger, either cream or liquid, dab into the jaw line until you are sure it is clear and see if it matches with your skin shade.

Foundation can be applied using a sponge/wedge, foundation brush or the tip of the fingers.
