Emily & Michael | Riverside Farm Wedding from Pam Cooley

Today’s romantic Vermont wedding comes from Pam Cooley, one of the awesome photographers in the Snippet & Ink Select vendor guide!

The bride’s bouquet of white peonies was embellished with a white ribbon and black and white cameo brooch.

Says the bride, “Towards the end of our reception it rained, creating such a romantic and cozy atmosphere in the barn. Afterwards, a heavy fog settled on the mountains that took both ourselves and our guests breath away. There was so much beauty in every part of the day!”

The taupe bridesmaid dresses were designed by the bride and custom made by Vlasta’s in Hamilton, Ontario. All of the ladies carried bouquets of lush, white peonies.

White flowers and candlelight created a warm and inviting atmosphere inside the antique barn. The four tiered buttercream wedding cake was decorated with white peonies.

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  As a little girl, I envisioned a wedding in an open field, surrounded by lush green mountains. I had always dreamt of one day visiting Vermont – I love its storybook beauty, with its rolling hills and historic charm. After stumbling upon a link online and visiting Riverside Farm, we both fell in love. It was everything we had dreamed of and more. We were thrilled with the idea of inviting our closest family and friends to spend such a special weekend with us in such a beautiful place.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  We tried to compliment everything our venue already had to offer. Riverside was inspiration all on its own. We incorporated details that we felt added romance, elegance and sweetness to the rustic venue..

What was your favorite moment or part of the day?  I’ll always remember getting ready. Waking up to the sunrise through the french doors, tip-toeing around on gorgeous wide planked floors that so many brides have walked with the same anticipation and excitement. The entire morning was a dream.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding?  We incorporated two of my favorite traditions into the day: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue; and the throwing of rice during our recessional.

What advice do you have for other brides?  After the ceremony, we snuck away for a moment alone. It was so nice to have a few minutes to ourselves to soak in the commitment we had just made together. We didn’t plan it – it happened on a whim – so I would say my best advice to brides is to give yourselves a few minutes entirely alone during the day.
