Eleanore Spring Evening started fashion designing as a hoby early in her adolescense and served her friends and close environment. Ellie was born May 7, 1929 to Gertrude and John Spring in New Rochelle, NY, where she spent her childhood. In 1948, Ellie married Raymond Barrett, also of New Rochelle, and began married life as a diplomatic family in the Foreign Service, raising 5 children in varied posts, including Mexico, Nicaragua, Ireland, Egypt, Wisconsin, Spain, Washington, DC and Fort Bragg, N.C. . fascinated by fabrics,cuts,colours,lace and designs;her designs were cut particularly to shape up the image of “Eleanore’s woman” In retirement, Ellie lived with her husband in New Jersey, Switzerland, and North Carolina. After his death, she moved to Spokane, Washington, living there until moving back to Durham, N.C. to be close to family. After the succcess and the encouragement of her loyal customers, she decided to expand her customer base uncovering her talent and natural eye for fashion.
