Rachel & Jeffrey | Elegant Jewish Wedding at The Biltmore

Wrapping up Pink Week is this elegant brunch wedding at The Biltmore from photographer Kat Braman. Even the bride’s gown was in a romantic shade of blush!

Bouquets included hot pink roses, a lovely contrast to the pale blush bridesmaid dresses.

The bride wore her mother’s veil and jewelry.

The best part of the day? “We loved being literally encircled by our friends and family while we said I do. The stadium style seating arrangement made the ceremony feel intimate despite having over 200 guests.”

Why did you choose this location for your wedding?  We are both originally from South Florida and our families still live there. We loved the idea of an outside daytime ceremony followed by a Sunday brunch. As soon as my mother heard our idea, she said, “The best brunch I ever had was at the Biltmore Hotel.” Jeffrey and I ended up booking our venue without ever seeing it!

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding?  Once we finally saw the venue, everything just fell into place. At that point I had already found my blush-colored wedding gown and was beyond happy when I saw that it was seemingly made for the Mediterranean-styled architecture and design of this historic hotel.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding?  Jeffrey and I were both raised Jewish, so we included as many of our traditions as we could think of. We were married under a chuppah, and the ceremony was conducted by my childhood Rabbi. We broke the glass, danced the horah, and had a “mezinka,” which is an opportunity for everyone to congratulate the parents of the bride when they “marry off” their last daughter. Since my parents have four girls this was an extra mitzvah. Also, we used my grandmother’s cake topper from her wedding.

What was the best advice you received as a bride?  To not get too wrapped up in any detail because it’s likely no one will notice but you.

What advice do you have for other brides?  Enjoy every moment of planning and especially of the day. Take time to slow down and look around because it will fly by.
