Tasha + Aaron’s Winter Wedding

Tasha + Aaron’s Winter Wedding

Happy Halloween Eve!!!  Besides being a super fun DIY holiday, a good reason to dress up, pumpkin everything and the best excuse to over indulge on candy- Halloween always reminds me one thing: winter. And while it might not be my favorite season; there’s one thing for sure it sure does make for some gorgeous weddings!  Tasha and Aaron’s Virginia wedding inspired by the cold grey days is a pretty big treat in itself!  Rebekah Hoyt Photography captured a basket full of sweet, sentimental, emotional and fun moments and bride Tasha shared a whole lot of crafting advice.  So bring a big treat bag, cuz there’s no tricks today- just winter wedding perfection.

From the Bride:

I wanted to go all out with the winter theme. I ditched the traditional color scheme and opted for a more muted set of neutrals, inspired by the kind of grey winter days we get in Virginia. My husband loves the outdoors and we played it up with pine cones and tons of wood elements: this included everything from the bouquets, to the centerpieces, to the invitations, which had disks of wood stamped with pine cones on them. My sister passed away when I was in high school so to honor  her at our wedding, we reserved a seat in the front row where her favorite stuffed dog “Doggy” sat in a little tuxedo. I also had several pictures of her on my bouquet.

Tasha has surely put her art major to good use here.  She shared some of her great ideas including stocking up on craft supplies post major holidays like Christmas and Halloween.  (hint, hint- all of the battery operated candles in the centerpieces were found at a post Halloween sale and a January wedding date means stock up on snow stuff after Christmas.)  And who knew you could bake pine cones?  Besides the insanely awesome invites and gorgeous wintery centerpieces, Tasha also made all the cute signs, the yummy cocoa favors, the cake topper, and designed the ceiling decor.

Tasha also shared the DIY Bride’s biggest rule of thumb: “don’t take it all on by yourself.”  Crafty brides tend to be surrounded by crafty and resourceful friends and fam.  This is wedding is just proof in the winter pudding.  Thanks Rebekah Hoyt Photography for sharing this winter dream! Congratulations Tasha + Aaron!
