Morning brides-to-be!  With wedding season over, the b.loved schedule is jam-packed with real weddings over the next few weeks.  But I’ve still managed to find some space to squeeze in some of my favourite love shoots!  Today’s engagement session from Ravinder Crone is as simple as it is sweet, proving that sometimes love really is all you need.

We met at Haren’s University through a mutual friend. At first, we thought we disliked each other for some irrational reason, but after a period of mingling, wrestling and a lot of match-making by our uni friends we finally took an interest in each other. 7 years later, Haren finally popped the question.

He proposed on New Year’s Eve 2012 after a surprise spa day and dinner in Cambridge. He got down on one knee at the stroke of midnight and the fireworks in the distance provided a memorable backdrop. We both used to think New Years Eve was always the biggest anti-climax of the year, but from now on this day will always be special for us.

Our wedding plans are going surprisingly smoothly. We got on to the planning as soon as possible once we had picked a venue. We found that to be the hardest job, along with preparing the guest list as we both have such big families but wanted a relatively small wedding (by Asian standards!). Both having Sri Lankan parents, but growing up in the UK, we wanted to have a wedding that incorporated a bit of both cultures to make it personal to us, so that’s what we have tried to achieve throughout our day.
