Today we head to California for the blissful engagement shoot of Annie and Andrew.

This shoot makes me long for the summer, golden fields and pretty dresses. I so love the location of this shoot, the sweet picnic and their cute dog who got involved too.

"Annie & Andrew's engagement shoot took place in Walnut Creek, California's picturesque hills, surrounded by golden fields, cloudy blue skies and winding trails. We wanted a glamourous twist on the outdoors for this romantic styled engagement session to match their wedding theme and style. Inkspot Photography stylist Mariko Giverink created an elegant gold framed scripted Save the Date chalkboard, silk ribbon tied gold balloons, a bouquet in their wedding colors and a dessert trio for two with "flirty" pink champagne. Annie requested a TV guide for him and a romantic love novel for her :) And let's not forget about their pet pooch's adorable doggy dish and gourmet treats for him to enjoy as well! "

From Annie...

"Andrew and I met at his cousin Steven's graduation party 5 years ago. His cousin is my best friend's boyfriend and we were all mutual friends in college. That night I was just hanging out with my friends at the party not really mingling with the family that was there when Andrew walked through the door. I first noticed his plaid shirt and thought "hey he's cute". As the night wore on we eventually started talking - as this was going on I noticed a few of the older aunts whispering and giggling about us. I suggested that we go outside for some "fresh air". Our conversation continued on the front porch when we noticed spying eyes from the living room window. Andrew then suggested we take a walk - so we stood on the side of the road in the middle of December and I said that was cold - almost instantly Andrew put his arm around me and we shared our first kiss. We then made our way back to the house and he asked for my number - and we have been dating ever since! I am so excited for our wedding so we can officially start our lives together!

Andrew and I actually went ring shopping together - so before he officially proposed I already knew it was coming - I knew where the ring was coming from, I knew what it would look like.. the only thing I didn't know was when it was going to happen. He chose a random Saturday morning to "pop the question" I had taken off one of my other rings and left it on the nightstand and when I wasn't looking, Andrew switched that ring with the engagement ring. When I went to put on my other ring I saw the engagement ring in place of it - he totally caught me off guard! I looked at the ring and looked at him (he was already on one knee) and asked "what's this?!" right then and there he just proposed and I said "yes"!

Overall our story is pretty straight forward - boy meets girl, boy and girl like each other, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl get married. We do have our ups and downs, but being with him has taught me that falling in love doesn't have to be complicated - and when you find the right person - everything can be simple and happy."
