Find Your Focus

You can shine bright at the office - just don't shine all over. Focus on one feature and keep the rest of the face clean and simple, but don't go completely bare. Neglecting your other features will make your bright style appear haphazard rather than pretty and polished. Wardrobe is important, too. If you're wearing bright makeup, leave the loud prints in your closet. There's nothing chicer than an all black ensemble and a bold lip.

Prime Time

Nine to five is a long time to expect your pigments to hold on. Set them up for success with a proper priming. On the lids, try Lancôme Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolour Base or Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion then follow with a dusting of loose powder before adding any color. For lips, be sure to exfoliate first, and then apply a moisturizing lip balm. Allow that to sink in for 5-10 minutes, then apply a lip primer like Guerlain Kiss Kiss Liplift or fill in your lips with invisible lip liner, like Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner in Clear .

Bring a Backup

Primer is a good start, but when it comes to bright makeup we like to operate under the better-safe-than-sorry model. Pack a touch-up kit with your bright makeup of choice, a few Q-tips and concealer (in the event there is a midday catastrophe, concealer and Q-tips will save the day).
