We don't often feature engagement sessions but when we do, it's because something strikes a chord and today is one of those photography moments. If you are a regular reader of Fly Away Bride, you will know that both Amy and I are lovers of light and we certainly are treated to lots of gorgeous sunshine and natural light today. If you are recently engaged and planning a holiday away, an engagement session might be something to consider to mark both the occasion and to document a fun break away. Perhaps you are venue scouting or just taking a few days off work to catch up on some time together, whatever your reasons, booking a photographer to capture the two of you together (any of you have only those horrid selfie snaps as your only reminder?) will benefit you in more ways than one. For starters, it will help you get comfortable in front of the camera so your not feeling so awkward on your wedding day. Secondly, not only will you have a beautiful set of photos to grace your new home with, they will be a constant reminder of what a wonderful time it was just being engaged. Todays couple, Rachel and Dave from Ireland, engaged the services of Matt + Lena Photography to capture this special time and I'm sure you will all agree that the results are so stunning.
"When I was in college I spent a summer living and working in New York and absolutely loved it. I always wanted to go back and visit so when Dave and I decided to go there on holiday in September 2012 I was beyond excited. One evening we went for dinner at Pier 17 and afterwards walking along by the water Dave got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I had no idea what he had been planning, it was a wonderful surprise and of course I said yes! We went to central park and took a horse drawn carriage ride to celebrate and let it all sink in, a lovely way to end such a memorable evening."
