Sometimes you just need to shake the dust of the city off of your shoes and head for the hills. With the Eureka Lodge 's spectacular view of the Colorado Rockies and no cellphone service, that is just what Shana and John did for their big day. So sit back, relax and stay tuned for some great first hand information from the bride about this amazing venue!

Ryan Price captured all of the fun and the sweeping landscapes beautifully, be sure to stop by the full gallery here to see even more!

From Ryan Price:
Standing near the edge of a cliff overlooking the vast expanse of mountains, Shana and John said their I-Dos among close family and friends as the small creek below them provided a perfect soundtrack to the ceremony. Their wedding was filled with natural elements that fit perfectly with the setting, such as beautiful hanging floral pieces above the long tables and pieces of aspen for guests to take home and remember their time in Colorado.

Nestled deep in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado, down a small winding road outside of Silverton, sits an old miner's lodge that has been converted into a wedding venue of sorts. Shana and John love to travel and feel at home in the majestic mountains of Colorado, so it made sense to let Eureka Lodge be the backdrop for their wedding. For $7600 (including a $500 early bird booking discount) they were able to have access to the lodge from Friday at 2pm until Sunday at 10am. It included use of the entire lodge consisting of all bedrooms, bathrooms, basement, kitchen, and living spaces and two breakfasts for lodge guests.

From the Bride:
They have many additional items already on site that are either part of the original agreement or are rented for a small fee. For example, the large tent and all white chairs in my photos were included in the original price of the lodge rental! On the contrary, the rugs used beneath the dining area were an additional cost at around $10/rug. The bride can pick and choose what she wants to use and for the most part is allowed to place things where she likes allowing her creativity to take over the space. This place is more than a deal, its a steal!

From Ryan Price:
Since almost all of the wedding guests traveled great distances to this remote location, the wedding as a whole had a warm family feel to it. Many guests stayed in the lodge for a few nights and made a vacation out of it. As steaks grilled just outside the lodge, guests were able to interact with the cook and set aside their out-of-range cell phones to really enjoy the spectacular scenery.

From the Bride:
I encountered a cancellation from my original cake designer a few months prior to the wedding and had to scramble to find someone else in the area. It proved to be a challenge, until I was given a recommendation to call Luda Woodward out of Durango, CO. For $280 we had a three tiered wedding cake and a single layer grooms cake. They were simply iced intentionally as flowers from the florist were added on wedding day. The cake was not delivered to the venue, but my maid of honor and cousin picked it up in town on rehearsal day. It was already boxed and easy to handle on the winding highway to Silverton, CO.
