Dewy skin is of course a summer staple, but not all of us can maintain dewiness for long periods of time without venturing into oily territory. Lucky for us oily-skinned gals (and trend-driven beauty girls everywhere), the matte look is back in a big way. To nail the look, it is has to be deliberate. We're talkin' all matte everything. We turned to professional makeup artist Tara Shakespeare for Contour Fossa to help us create this matte magic.

Face

Apply a full coverage foundation with a matte finish all over.

Eyes

1. For the perfect canvas, conceal and powder the entire eyelid.
2. To keep it totally matte, use a small precision eyeliner brush and dark brown or black eye shadow to define the eyes with a thin line of color close to the lash line.

Lips

1. Use a sponge to dab cream concealer all over the lips.
2. For the final mattifying touch, dust the lips with loose powder.
