Once the undisputed jewel to our north, Bali as a holiday destination has come under attack. The issue of Bali has become a rather contentious one in our Australian society with those people that are strongly against travel to the tropical Island and those that fiercely defend it. Here at Modern Wedding we fall into the latter category with many of our staff enjoying family holidays, honeymoons and weddings in Bali. On a personal level we have seen the great beauty of Bali. We continue to see breathtaking weddings and hear romantic honeymoon stories from our brides.

We are greatly saddened by the negative wrap Bali receives through the Australian media. Like all parts of the world there are some undesirable locales in Bali, but judging the entire Island of Bali on this is like judging all of Australia on a Saturday night in Kings Cross. We are regularly in contact with the beautiful Balinese people that work in Bali's tourism industry and it is a sad state of affairs when the experiences and actions of a few affect their livelihood.

Bali Is My Life is a series of short films, created by Bali Hotels Association, that seek to celebrate the people of Bali. In these films we see the warmth, charm and friendliness of a people who want to share their alluring home with those who have come from afar. We wanted to share these films today on our blog in the hope that you would take the time to appreciate the Balinese people and understand their way of life on their island home.
