Makeup Looks to Match With Hairstyles

via

As you probably know, when it comes to beauty, MDC loves a good upgrade. Having a great hairstyle is all well and good, but having a great hairstyle with equally killer makeup is fabulous. We wanted to get the skinny on the hottest hair/makeup combos so we caught up with a few in-the-know hair and fashion stylists to see what dynamic duos are catching their eyes!

With a Retro Bob ...

When it comes to style, fashion blogger and designer Amy Roiland is all about the throwback. The style guru is currently obsessing over a '60s-inspired curled-in short bob/cat eye combo. "For a more subtle look try a very thin cat eye with red lips," says Roiland. "You can never have too much lipstick on - just don't go overboard on the eye makeup. There should be a balance."

For a bob with bounce, section off your hair and blow dry each section under using a barrel brush. If you are not a wizard with the blow dryer, use a 1 ½-inch curling iron to curl the hair under. Set the style by spraying a volumizing hairspray like Garnier Volumizing Anti-Humidity Hairspray. Also, you long-haired ladies can get in on the bob fun too! Fake the look with a little faux bob action.

With a Long Bob ...

Tim Quinn, celebrity face designer and national director of creative artistry for Giorgio Armani says the mid-length bob trend is pulling at his heart strings, especially when paired with an au naturel face. "I just adore the fresh -faced natural makeup look," Quinn raves. "The soft, slightly smoky eye, barely-there foundation and a nude, glossy lip look."

For a clean, fresh face, Quinn recommends Giorgio Armani Luminessence CC Cream. Pair it with a soft, natural pout and take that hair and makeup out for a night on the town!

With a Side Braid ...

It seems braided looks are all the rage these days and Los Angeles-based personal stylist Jasmine Betancourt says she's all about it. "I love rocking a side braid with a matte orange/red lip and topping it off with some shimmery gold eye shadow," says Betancourt. "It's so versatile and fun and will take you through the day and into the night."

Try a four-strand or fishtail side braid to give this look a fun edge. MDC Quick Tip: To give your braid some life, use a texturizing spray or powder (we love Kératase Powder Bluff) before braiding to give it a slightly undone look. For a bright orange pout, swipe on Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Vibrant Mandarin.

With a Playful Pony ...

When it comes to a kickin' hairdo, Gabriel Almodovar, celebrity makeup artist for Maybelline New York says the classic, sleek pony is the way to go. "A slicked-back, high ponytail paired with pops of pink is such a pretty look," raves Almodovar. "Apply some pink on the cheek - maybe a little heavier than you usually would - and a finish it off with a pink glossy lip. Make sure to keep eyes soft. And maybe add hoop earrings to add to the playfulness of the look!"

Go for a full and fun pony with creamy, pink blush like Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Pink Frosting. Grab some baby pink gloss and you're good to go!
