The Glasshouse Collection from bridal designer Sarah Janks is almost ethereal with the use of sparkling lace, layers of gossamer tulle, delicate floral applique and fluted sleeves.

The layers of classic elegance are modernised with fun touches like white and green stripe ribbon belt, under-laid by silk slips which enhance the lace and intricate design work.

Drawing inspiration from the story of Victorian Orchid Hunters who brought the first orchids to London in 1818, the beauty of the bloom sending many on the search to discover the exotic blooms, battling disease, man eating tigers and hostile tribes. Out of this era, came one of the first couturiers, Charles Frederick Worth. His work in redefining the female shape, using beautiful fabrics to create stunningly simple but complimentary gowns has inspired Sarah with her latest collection.

She notes, "The glasshouse enshrines the orchid as a wonderful dress should enshrine a woman's beauty. And, like the orchid, in fashion the best is always beautiful and strikingly simple."

After her previous collections ( the 2011 Tempus collection and her 2013 Keepsakes collection), it's interesting to see Sarah Janks evolve into a brand that really reflects femininity. Sarah Janks gowns are available from her flagship boutique in Mosman, as well as selected boutiques through Europe and the USA.
