Photographer Adam Ward took to the country today with the newly engaged Ashlee and Shawn to capture their relaxed engagement photos and I'm so excited to share them today! Ashlee and Shawn wanted a relaxed, intimate engagement shoot to reflect their relationship, choosing an abandoned house Ashlee had found and a wide open field found by Adam to capture their love story.

On how they met, Ashlee and Shawn tell, "We met during the University Placement. We had known of each other for two years, but we hadn't had much of an opportunity to get to know each other. During our placement we spent a lot of time together. We fell in love quickly, and knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together."

On what she loves about her future husband, Ashlee remarks, "I love that Shawn is good, kind and compassionate. But, he also has a strength that makes him dependable. He is serious and funny. He is easy going and just full of life. I love how well he takes care of me. And I love how much he adores me. He makes me feel special and loved."

On what he loves about his future wife, Shawn tells, "I love her sense of humour, her intelligence, her beauty, her caring nature, the way she loves me for who I am and the way we have worked together to build our lives so far. I love that she is accepting of my family and they of her, I love the way she makes me feel everyday and the man she has helped me to become."

Ashlee tells the story of how Shawn proposed. "Shawn and I had recently graduated from University and moved to the Gold Coast to start our new lives together. My favourite place on the Gold Coast was Mount Tamborine, overlooking the magical view of the Gold Coast skyline. Shawn had secretly booked a romantic weekend away on Mount Tamborine, whisking me away after work. He wined and dined me, whilst we excitedly talked about our new future. After dinner, on bent knee, with champagne, strawberries, a stunning ring, whilst overlooking the sparkling lights of the Gold Coast he proposed; telling me that he would be the happiest man alive if I would agree to be his wife."
